“Each cup of tea represents an imaginary voyage.” ~ Catherine Douzel

Would you like some Green Coffee? (Said best if enunciated in a lovely little 3-year-old British accent…)

And so set the tone for our whimsical take on “A Tokyo Tea Party”. Starring beautiful friends, innocence and some serious memory making. The perfect way to remember life and the little bits in between. Before the growing up really takes hold. In this season of sayonaras and moving on. We miss you already. We just had to do this. And finally we did, after some re-scheduling due to inclement weather. In the middle of life and moving on and what’s next, well, there is always time for tea. Even if it’s kind of pretend, or a little bit of a fusion – yes, we’d LOVE some green coffee. Thankyouverymuch.

And with real macaroons, lots of little hand-made details, pretty purses, rings, birdies, some of your sweetest Tokyo friends and a set just begging for some twirling, swirling and hide and seek moments. In the heart of Tokyo, in that glorious late afternoon May sun we let loose. Oh, yeah, so very us. As if we needed any encouragement. And then three little girls followed, and explored and played and wandered off and came back and ran, and skipped and jumped and peekabooed pretty much all afternoon. And their gorgeous moms (and a dad) assisted. Did someone say “best play-date ever”? On a blanket of wild flowers, they were in their own little tea-party heaven, peppered with hugs and whispers and everything little girls are made of. There was time to soak in the pure meaning of friendships and another chapter in the Tokyo Story. Photograph your Japan story.

That was all of course prior to the end. Which came with certain fanfare and aplomb. The backdrop taking flight after its earthly demise and the subsequent hilarious entanglement of little ones and their final collapse as the sun went down. And the endless giggles, giggles and more giggles still lingering…

And of course there were too many favorites, so we are foregoing a thorough edit in favor of some serious story-telling for once upon a rather epic Tokyo Tea Party there were 3 little friends…
