Tokyo Family Portraits : Red Boots & Tokyo rain…

Family photos are more than just a photo they are a way to pass down information from one generation to the next.

A picture is worth a thousand words…and well, it’s true

“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.” ~ Author Unknown

I got stuck in a torrential downpour earlier this week. As I was running about town trying to get air tickets sorted, end of month boring stuff and banking done. It was refreshing for a bit and I kind of wandered along lost in daydreams and then the heavens opened and it was epic. And I was soaked in under 10 seconds. My brolly was beyond useless by this stage. So all that was left was to just smile, laugh and run home somewhat berserkly in the rain. And maybe leap a bit and skip while no-one was watching. Some terribly lyrical singing-in-the-rain moves. All highly recommended. I love the rain in Tokyo.

Which is the perfect segue into today’s featured post. And got us thinking about some new techniques on how to interact with clients, get them relaxed and moving… a lyrical work in progress, perhaps. So here we are at iconic and timeless Zojoji.

Usually when the weather is not on our side we would postpone the session. In this case a) the weather was absolutely gorgeous until 5 mins before the appointed meeting time and we were all early... and b) it was with one of our favorite families in town from Hawaii. Tokyo vacation Photography is always on the cards.

So we just had to make it happen. And here are the highlights… nothing more magic than Tokyo in a cool light rain. Traditions reflected, the shrine to ourselves, generations together, celebrating the love of family and each other. Featuring the most adorable girls, curls, those red-boots and handbags. And of course a chance to catch raindrops.
