Winter at Yosemite National Park

Here's a winter gem from Yosemite National Park.

One of the most iconic landscape views we know...

Yosemite Falls on an icy morning. I remember never having been so cold in my life. (Including when we were in the Arctic Circle!!). This was taken at sunrise on Valentine's Day 2011. Visiting Yosemite National Park in winter means picturesque snow-topped peaks, glistening frozen lakes and plenty of activities to enjoy before heading inside to relax by a roaring fire.

This particular year, winter weather had restricted access to some parts of the park and snow chains were required. So... that's another story. But for these two beach-loving Aussies, we found the most wonderful gas station attendant to help. He was a life-saver.

It's a magical time of year to explore the 1,200 acres of wilderness that Yosemite has to offer.
